History:
Based In The Textile Rich Region Of Hyogo Japan, Niime Pieces Are Woven On Large Industrial Looms In The Traditional Style Of Japanese Weaving Called ‘Banshu-Ori’. This Method Of Weaving Was Revived By Tamaki Niime Back In 2006 After It Was Effectively Made Extinct In The Mid-80’S After Being The Traditional Method Of Weaving Kimonos Since The 1700S. Tamaki Niime Sought To Grow Her Own Materials, Including The Organic Cotton In Her Weaves, And Has A Working Field Next To Her Looms. Today Her Entire Process Of Making Each Piece – From The Growing Of Cotton, To The Dying Of The Thread, To The Weaving – Is All Maintained In 1 Place.
